Contour Training Academy

The Contour Training Academy is the academy of Contour Enviro Group through which we host our environmental education and training programmes. The training academy is CATHSSETA-accredited (the Culture, Art, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport Sector Education and Training Authority) as well as QCTO (Quality Council for Trades & Occupation) for conservation training programmes.

AT SCHOOLS

Through the Contour Training Academy, we work with schools, teaching scholars across the Western Cape of South Africa about nature conservation and the environment. All our nature programmes are linked to the national curriculum.

ON FARMS

The Contour Training Academy works with farmers and farmworkers. We support farmers to meet environmental compliance in the fruit sector. We also provide agricultural environmental management solutions to the agricultural sector, as well as non-accredited skills training to farmworkers. Furthermore, we run hiking and camping programmes for farm children. 

TO TOURIST GUIDES

Our training programme includes a course on tourism guiding, nature site guiding and culture site guiding. These courses allow guides to identify major living and non-living features of the natural environment, as well as cultural features (culture site guide). The learner will be able to practice as a tourist guide on completing these courses. 

To future conser-vationists

The Contour Training Academy offers a number of accredited courses to build skills in conservation. Our courses include: Introduction to Geographic Information Systems, Environmental Management, Conservation Resource Guardianship and Field Ranger Skills.
